Rigsby Wins Alabama North Event at Guntersville
Jesse Rigsby of Old Hickory, TN won the Alabama North division Ram Truck Open Series event at Lake Guntersville on May 714, 2016. Rigsby caught a 25.70 pound limit to win $5825. “I caught my fish using a green pumpkin/blue colored jig, sitting in 18 feet of water and throwing into 6-8 feet of water. I found a school of fish moving out of a creek channel heading into the main lake. I sat there just working my jig down in the rocks. It was a great day and I had my original limit by 6:30, before moving to my secondary spot and culling three times. I found the school on Wednesday while practicing and I was able to stay with that same school,” said Rigsby.
Derek Remitz of Grant, AL finished in second place with 25.45 pounds and brought in the boater Big Bass, weighing 8.18 pounds, to win $2631. “I caught all of my fish cranking today. You just have to keep looking around and when something comes open, you have to take advantage of it. I didn't catch a whole lot today, but I was able to cull a few times. The way Guntersville has been fishing, it was kind of a grind,” said Remitz.
Gregory Buie of Athens, AL finished in third place with 24.78 pounds winning $1174. “I caught my fish off of ledges using a red shad colored worm in about 12-14 feet of water. I had a good day and I was able to land every fish that bit my bait which allowed me to cull about seven times,” said Buie.
