I caught the big one between 7:30am - 7:45am and between my co-angler and I, we caught 32 bass today. The fish didn’t quit biting until around 12:00pm.”  McClellon said. For the Boater Division victory, McClellon took home a check for $5,000. McClellon was also the Triton Gold winner, running a 2016 20TRX Elite, and will receive $500 from Triton Boats for the victory. Daryl also caught the Big Bass for the Boaters weighing 5.53 pounds. He collected an additional $420.

In second for the Boaters, Jerry Kotal of Elberton, Georgia landed five bass weighing 15.14 pounds. “I caught my fish early this morning on a fluke on top water and the rest came on a worm. The fish shut down around 12:00pm and I didn’t get another bite the rest of the day.” Kotal said. He collected $1,080 for the effort.

Andy Wicker of Pomaria, South Carolina took third for the Boaters with five bass weighing 13.88 pounds. “I was fishing creeks and I caught my fish flipping jigs or beaver style baits. I lost a few good fish on top water early this morning but my fishing seemed to get better as the day went on.” Wicker said. He earned $720.

Finishing, tied for fourth place, Phillip Anderson of Saluda, South Carolina and Thomas N. Thomas of Lincolnton, Georgia both landed five-bass limits each weighing 13.81 pounds. Each angler collected $468 for their efforts.

In the Co-Angler Division, James Akins of Cumming, Georgia won with three bass weighing 9.72 pounds. He sealed his victory with a 4.25 -pound kicker.

Lonnie Drusch of Sumter, South Carolina placed third among the Co-Anglers with three bass weighing 7.44 pounds. “I fished in Soap Creek and my day was over pretty quick, I had three bites before 7:00 am and that was it for the day.
